In Orange County, there are more than 13,000 documented gang members. minors are exposed to criminal street gangs as young as 8 years old. Orange County Gang Experts agree the average age that minors are pressured to join a criminal gang is from 8 to 14 years old.
PureGame and the Gang Reduction Intervention Partnership (GRIP) are teaming up to provide a soccer camp to create a safe and engaging outlet for kids and an opportunity for kids to build positive relationships with local law enforcement.
GRIP is a collaborative program that brings together multiple organizations, agencies, and volunteers to prevent kids from participating in gang activity. GRIP's mission is to keep minors from criminal street gangs and help them graduate from high school without engaging in destructive criminal behavior.
